About Us
Joyce celebrates the essence of coastal Southern cuisine, with a focus on seafood and an exceptional raw bar. Located in the heart of DTLA, Joyce blends the flavors of the coastal South with soul food classics, creating a dining experience rooted in tradition and elevated with a modern approach.
Our menu features a variety of small and large plates designed for sharing, inviting guests to dine in the spirit of a traditional Southern table where friends, family, and community gather. Joyce is a popular destination for dinner in Downtown Los Angeles, whether you’re joining us for a night out, a group dining experience, or a special occasion.
To complement the menu, we offer a curated wine list and a zero-landfill cocktail program, combining thoughtful hospitality with a commitment to sustainability.
Whether you’re a local or visiting DTLA, Joyce offers a warm, high-energy dining experience that feels both elevated and familiar.
Founded by the Rileys, the restaurant is inspired by Prince’s mother, Brenda "Joyce," who grew up in the South and introduced him to the art of hospitality at a young age. Her influence lives on in the warmth, generosity, and sense of community that define the Joyce experience today.
After more than 15 years in restaurant operations, Prince and his family saw an opportunity during the pandemic to bring their vision to life in the heart of DTLA. What began as a dream has grown into a destination for Southern cuisine in Downtown Los Angeles.
Joyce is a proud family-operated, black-owned restaurant rooted in community. We are committed to creating a space where guests feel welcomed, celebrated, and connected, while also supporting and collaborating with other local businesses throughout Los Angeles.
